What is the Youth Advisory Panel?
The Youth Advisory Panel, or YAP, is a group of young people aged 16-25 from across the county who advise us on providing and developing our support services for young people. The YAP are a core element of Jigsaw Donegal and are fundamental to everything we do.
Their role is to represent their own views, as young people in Donegal; to represent Jigsaw within their community and to make joint decisions with us on the running of Jigsaw’s services. Most importantly the YAP make sure that Jigsaw remains a service that young people feel comfortable coming into.
We are not currently recruiting for our Youth Advisory Panel but If you would like more information on it or future recruitment's, please contact Karen at Jigsaw Donegal on 074 9726920.
Previous YAP Members has this to say about their experience on the YAP:
“It was a really enjoyable experience; I had a real input into the service and wider community. I learned so much and met some great people. It felt like we were making a real change for the better in the issue of mental health”
“I really enjoyed creating the promotional posters for Jigsaw. I found that when I saw the posters hanging throughout my school I felt a sense of pride. I knew the YAP had made a difference”
