Jigsaw Cork is open

June 23rd 2017

We are delighted to say that Jigsaw has now opened a new Jigsaw Service in Cork.

What do we do?

Jigsaw Cork is a free and confidential mental health support service for young people aged 12-25. We also deliver workshops and training on youth mental health and practical ways we can support each other for young people, parents, professionals, and communities. We actively involve young people in the development of our work through our Youth Advisory Panel (YAP).

How do we work?

We offer brief, one-to-one, solution focused sessions for young people with everyday concerns (from break-ups to exam stress) and mild-to-moderate mental health difficulties. Our support is delivered by an experienced team of mental health professionals, including psychologists, mental health nurses, and social workers.

We are focussed on early intervention, supporting the needs of young people before they reach a point of crisis. If a young person who is in crisis contacts us, we work in partnership with organisations who are able to support them and will help them in finding the support they need.

How can a young person access our service?

Our service is free. Young people, parents, carers, doctors, teachers, youth workers, and anyone who works with young people, can contact us by phone, or email to discuss an appointment. We are located in Cork City centre, and you can call us on (021) 245 2500 or email cork@jigsaw.ie. You can also find us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat, @jigsawcork. Please be advised, visits to Jigsaw Cork are by appointment only.

To ensure a safe and effective roll out of our one-to-one services, our initial catchment area will include Cork City only. For young people based outside the initial catchment area, we will be reviewing this and plan to scale up our services to include the wider Cork County area soon.

However, we are still engaging with young people and communities outside of the catchment area, including youth mental health workshops and Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) recruitment.

Please do not hesitate to make contact with us should you have any questions or queries.

We look forward to working alongside young people, services, businesses, and communities in supporting young people’s mental health in Cork.
