Get Connected - Short Film
‘Get Connected’ is a short film commissioned by Jigsaw youngballymun as part of part of Mental Health Week 2010. The theme for the week was ‘Get Connected’ to highlight how being linked in with family, friends, communities, schools or professional help, if needed, is key to positive mental health in young people.
The central message of the film is that being involved with others can help young people to feel better about themselves and help them get through tough times. Over an 8 week period, the axis arts team and director Peter Kelly from FilmCircle worked closely with a group of young people aged 13 – 17 years to write and produce the film which was shot locally in Ballymun. The film was screened at the launch of ‘Get Connected’ Mental Health Week on October 4th 2010 in the axis arts centre Ballymun.
