Roses gear up for the big race

Roses and Greyhounds came together for a special benefit night on Saturday June 25th at Kingdom Greyhound Stadium to raise funds for Jigsaw Kerry and The Festival of Kerry Support Group.

Both organisations came together two years ago as fundraising partners during the 50th celebrations of the International Rose of Tralee Festival. The night was a huge success, with young and old enjoying the atmosphere.

11 races took place, as well as novelty races such as a terrier race and space hopper races. One of the highlights of the evening was when a selection of Roses donned panto horse costumes and took to the track. Maybe it’s an omen but the Tipperary Rose came first!

There were performances by EXcel 21 and the Sizzle n Stomp School of Dance among many others. The night raised well needed funds to ensure that Jigsaw Kerry can continue to ensure that young people’s voices are heard throughout the Kingdom.
