Roscommon young people chcking out a teenage play park in Meath

In July 2010 as a result of discussions with the Roscommon Jigsaw Youth Advisory Committee around the issues of finding alternative ways of promoting mental health wellbeing  a trip to visit a teenage play park in Maynooth was organized to view and sample the facilities on offer. The thinking behind the visit and who to invite to accompany the YAC was the idea of exploring the feasibility of building such a park in the County. It was with this in mind that the YAC were accompanied by staff members from RIDC, Roscommon County Council, County Development Board and Jigsaw Roscommon, the decision makers and sources of potential funding in the County for such a development.

Every one young and nearly young enjoyed the facilities, tried them out and discussed the cost involved with a representative from the manufactures who meet us on site. The goal of building such a park in Roscommon is still being actively pursued but the current economic situation is not assisting in getting the necessary financing.
