Jigsaw Roscommon to re-open

May 26th 2016

We are pleased to announce that Jigsaw Roscommon will re-open in July. Along with our partners and the local community, we were really disappointed about the temporary closure of the service in February due to difficulties in recruiting new staff. We strongly believe that every community deserves a Jigsaw, and are passionate about striving to grow and develop the service wherever it is needed. Since February, we have been working closely with all of our partners in the HSE, local community agencies and the young people on our Youth Advisory Panel, to find a sustainable way of delivering the Jigsaw Service in Roscommon. This began with further attempts to recruit a full staff team with an aim to re-open in June. Whilst we’re yet to recruit a full team, we are now able to re-open the service in July with limited staffing in the first instance. Our plan then is to grow the service over time, including looking at ways to integrate the Jigsaw services in Roscommon and Galway to best support the mental health needs of young people in both communities. This will take time, and we would ask for your patience as we build our capacity to increase service provision and support for youth mental health across the county of Roscommon. Again, we would very much like to thank the HSE and other local stakeholders, the local community and our Youth Advisory Panel for their unwavering commitment to the re-establishment of Jigsaw in Roscommon over the past few months. We will be providing more details on the service, including opening times and how to arrange an appointment, prior to it re-opening in July. We look forward to this next chapter in the development of Jigsaw Roscommon. - Ends – For further information contact Matthew Oakes on 01 4727 010 or email Matthew.Oakes@headstrong.ie
