Film Making Project
March 14th 2019
We're very excited to announce a film-making project with young people from the international community in Kerry.
This is an amazing opportunity for a group of young people aged 12 to 25 from the international community, living in Tralee or Killarney. The group will get to produce a short film from start to finish; writing, directing, staring in and editing the whole project. The project will begin in April 2019 after consultation with the group.
First we are inviting young people who are interested in hearing more to join us for a day trip to the Dingle Film Festival with all expenses paid on Saturday, 23 March 2019. We hope this will get people excited about film making and the project itself! The deadline for letting us know about joining this trip is Thursday, 21 March 2019.
Jigsaw Kerry is a free, non-judgemental and confidential mental health support service for young people aged 12 to 25 in Kerry. We are grateful to have the support of Tralee International Resource Centre (TIRC), Killarney Immigrant Support Centre (KASI) and the Health Service Executive for this project. The film making workshops will be led by an experienced local screenwriter and a director, both of whom have worked with young people through schools and the Garda Youth Diversion Project in Kerry.
To get involved, you must be aged between 12 - 25, a member of the international community, and living in Tralee or Killarney.
