The aim of this Crowd-fund campaign is to start a weekly outreach service which will allow a Jigsaw Galway Support Worker to meet young people, from the area of North West Connemara, in Clifden one day a week. Anyone can contribute to funding the project by visiting www.icrowdfund.ie/JigsawGalway “This campaign gives everyone the chance to create a new, localised mental health support service for young people (aged 15-25).  Give what you can because every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help us support young people experiencing mental health difficulties and distress,” said Sarah Simkin of Jigsaw Galway. “The more funds we raise, the more we can meet young people in their own local community and reduce the barriers of time and transport." Jigsaw have been working in collaboration with a host of local services, including Forum Connemara and Connemara North West Connemara School Completion Programme, to endeavour to meet the specific needs of young people in the area.  Speaking at the launch, Marie Feeney of Forum Connemara said, “We are all very committed to getting a routine Jigsaw presence here in the community to support our young people.  The fact that everyone in the community has the opportunity to play their part, means we all have ownership over it. Whether you are living in the area, or further afield, we now need your support to make this happen.” Sarah Simkin from Jigsaw Galway added: "We want to reassure people throughout the county that they can also contact us at any time for appointments in Galway city".  Jigsaw Galway is a free and confidential service supporting young people’s mental health and well-being (aged 15 – 25) in Galway city and county.  Jigsaw also provides advice and guidance to anyone concerned about a young person in their life.  For more information on Jigsaw and their services call 091 549 252 or visit www.jigsaw.ie/galway.   For more information contact: Justin McDermott Jigsaw Galway Mob:   083 1051576 Tel:    091 549252 Email:          Justin.mcdermott@jigsaw.ie
